The UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body today gave its verdict, among other decisions, on the following cases from recent UEFA club competition matches.

12 February – UEFA Champions League round of 16 first leg:
Valencia CF v Paris Saint-Germain FC

PSG charge: Zlatan Ibrahimović red card
The Control and Disciplinary Body decided to suspend Ibrahimović for two UEFA competition matches. This applies to the following UEFA Champions League fixture: PSG v Valencia on 6 March. The remaining match suspension applies to the next UEFA club competition game for which the player would be eligible.

14 February – UEFA Europa League round of 32 first leg:
FC BATE Borisov v Fenerbahçe SK

Fenerbahçe charge: Raul Meireles red card
The Control and Disciplinary Body decided to suspend Meireles for three UEFA competition matches. As the player did not participate in the fixture between Fenerbahçe and BATE, played on 21 February, he has already served one game. The remaining suspension applies to the following matches: FC Viktoria Plzeň v Fenerbahçe on 7 March and Fenerbahçe v Plzeň on 14 March.

20 February – UEFA Champions League round of 16 first leg:
Galatasaray AŞ v FC Schalke 04

Schalke: Protest about the eligibility of Galatasaray player Didier Drogba
Having examined all the documents of the case, the Control and Disciplinary Body decided to reject the protest lodged by Schalke.

21 February – UEFA Europa League round of 32 second leg:
FC Rubin Kazan v Club Atlético de Madrid

Rubin charge: César Navas red card
The Control and Disciplinary Body decided to suspend the player for three UEFA competition matches. This suspension applies to the following fixtures: Levante UD v Rubin on 7 March and Rubin v Levante on 14 March. The remaining suspension applies to the next UEFA club competition game for which the player would be eligible.

21 February – UEFA Europa League round of 32 second leg:
Fenerbahçe SK v FC BATE Borisov

Fenerbahçe charge: Setting off and throwing of fireworks from outside the stadium
The Control and Disciplinary Body decided to order Fenerbahçe to play their next UEFA competition match as host club behind closed doors. This applies to the following fixture: Fenerbahçe v FC Viktoria Plzeň on 14 March. The Turkish team are also excluded from participating in the next UEFA club competition for which they would qualify – this sanction is deferred for a probationary period of two years. Fenerbahçe have also been fined €60,000.

21 February – UEFA Europa League round of 32 second leg:
S.S. Lazio v VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach

Lazio charges: Setting off and throwing of fireworks, racist behaviour, insufficient organisation
The Control and Disciplinary Body decided to order Lazio to play their next two UEFA competition matches as host club behind closed doors. This applies to the following fixture: Lazio v VfB Stuttgart on 14 March. The remaining game behind closed doors applies to the next UEFA competition match for which the club would qualify. The Italian club have also been fined €40,000.

Note: An appeal may be lodged against all the above-mentioned decisions within three days of the dispatch of the reasoned decision.
